1、定 义过 去 完 成 时 (past perfect)表 示 在 过 去 某 一 时 间 或 动 作 之 前 已 经 发 生 或 完 成 了 的 动 作 或 状 态 。 它 表 示 句 子 中 描 述 的 动 作 发 生 在 “过 去 的 过 去 ”。 基 本 结 构主 语 +had+过 去 分 词 vpp.(done) 肯 定 句 ： 主 语 +had+过 去 分 词 . 否 定 句 ： 主 语 +had+not+过 去 分 词 . 一 般 疑 问 句 ： Had+主 语 +过 去 分 词 ? 肯 定 回 答 ： Yes,主 语 +had. 否 定 回 答 ： No,主 语 +had not

2、 . 特 殊 疑 问 句 ： 特 殊 疑 问 词 或 词 组 +一 般 疑 问 句 （ Had+主 语 +过 去 分 词 ） ？ 基 本 用 法（ 1） 表 示 在 过 去 某 一 时 刻 或 动 作 以 前 完 成 了 的 动 作 ， 也 可 以 说 过 去 的 时 间 关 于 过 去 的 动 作 。即 “过 去 的 过 去 ”。 可 以 用 by, before 等 介 词 短 语 或 一 个 时 间 状 语 从 句 来 表 示 ， 也 可 以 用 一 个 表 示过 去 的 动 作 来 表 示 ， 还 可 能 通 过 上 下 文 来 表 示 。 例 如 ： By nine oclock l

6、 had lost. 她 丢 失 的 钥 匙 找 到 了 。 （ 5） 过 去 完 成 时 常 常 用 在 told,said,knew,heard,thought 等 动 词 后 的 宾 语 从 句 （ 或 间 接 引 语） 中 ， 这 时 从 句 中 的 动 作 发 生 在 主 句 表 示 的 过 去 的 动 作 之 前 。 例 如 ： He said that he had known her well. 他 说 他 很 熟 悉 她 。 I thought I had sent the letter a week before. 我 认 为 我 一 星 期 前 就 把 信 寄 出 去 了

7、 。 （ 6） 状 语 从 句 ： 在 过 去 不 同 时 间 发 生 的 两 个 动 作 中 ， 发 生 在 前 ， 用 过 去 完 成 时 ； 发 生 在 后， 用 一 般 过 去 时 。 如 when,before,after,as soon as,till/until 引 导 的 例 如 ： When I woke up, it had already stopped raining. 我 醒 来 时 雨 已 停 了 。 She didnt go to bed until she had finished her work. 她 直 到 把 工 作 做 完 之 后 才 睡 觉 。注 意

8、 ： 如 果 两 个 动 作 紧 接 着 发 生 ， 则 常 常 不 用 过 去 完 成 时 ， 特 别 是 在 包 含 before 和 after的 复 合 句 中 ， 因 为 这 时 从 句 的 动 作 和 主 句 的 动 作 发 生 的 先 后 顺 序 已 经 非 常 明 确 ， 这 时 可 以 用 一般 过 去 时 代 替 过 去 完 成 时 。 例 如 ： After he arrived in England, Marx worked hard to improve his English. 马 克 思 到 达 英 格 兰 之 后 ， 努 力 提 高 他 的 英 语 水 平 。

9、（ 7） 动 词 think, want, hope, mean, plan, intend 等 用 过 去 完 成 时 来 表 示 过 去 未 曾 实 现 的 想 法， 希 望 ， 打 算 或 意 图 等 。 例 如 ： They had wanted to help but could not get there in time. 他 们 本 来 打 算 去 帮 忙 ， 但 没 有 及 时 赶 到 那 里 。 We had hoped to be able to come and see you . 我 们 本 来 希 望 能 来 看 看 你 。 （ 8） 过 去 完 成 时 还 可 用

11、k that year. 这 是 他 那 一 年 第 三 次 失 业 了 。 时 间 状 语 before,when,after,by+,until, once,had no soonerthan， yet， already 等 。 过 去 完 成 时 -语 法 判 定1. 由 时 间 状 语 来 判 定 一 般 说 来 ， 各 种 时 态 都 有 特 定 的 时 间 状 语 。 与 过 去 完 成 时 连 用 的 时 间 状 语 有 ： （ 1 ） by + 过 去 的 时 间 点 。 如 ： I had finished reading the novel by nine oclock l

12、ast night. （ 2 ） by the end of + 过 去 的 时 间 点 。 如 ： We had learned over two thousand English words by the end of last term. （ 3 ） before + 过 去 的 时 间 点 。 如 ： They had planted six hundred trees before last Wednesday. 2. 由 “过 去 的 过 去 ”来 判 定 。 过 去 完 成 时 表 示 “过 去 的 过 去 ”， 是 指 过 去 某 一 动 作 之 前 已 经 发 生 或 完 成

13、 的 动 作 ， 即 动 作 有 先后 关 系 ， 动 作 在 前 的 用 过 去 完 成 时 ， 在 后 的 用 一 般 过 去 时 。 这 种 用 法 常 出 现 在 ： （ 1 ） 宾 语 从 句 中 当 宾 语 从 句 的 主 句 为 一 般 过 去 时 ， 且 从 句 的 动 作 先 于 主 句 的 动 作 时 ， 从 句 要 用 过 去 完 成 时 。 在told, said, knew, heard, thought 等 动 词 后 的 宾 语 从 句 。 如 ： She said that she had seen the film before. （ 2 ） 状 语 从 句

14、中 在 时 间 、 条 件 、 原 因 、 方 式 等 状 语 从 句 中 ， 主 、 从 句 的 动 作 发 生 有 先 后 关 系 ， 动 作 在 前 的 ， 要用 过 去 完 成 时 ， 动 作 在 后 的 要 用 一 般 过 去 时 。 如 ： After he had finished his homework, he went to bed. 注 意 ： before, after 引 导 的 时 间 状 语 从 句 中 ， 由 于 before 和 after 本 身 已 表 达 了 动 作 的 先后 关 系 ， 若 主 、 从 句 表 示 的 动 作 紧 密 相 连 ， 则 主

16、 seen each other since he went to Beijing.过 去 完 成 时 -语 法 区 别过 去 完 成 时 与 现 在 完 成 时 的 区 别现 在 完 成 时 表 示 的 动 作 发 生 在 过 去 ， 以 现 在 的 时 间 为 基 点 ， 但 侧 重 对 现 在 产 生 的 结 果 或 造 成 的 影 响， 与 现 在 有 关 ， 其 结 构 为 “助 动 词 have (has) + 过 去 分 词 ”； 过 去 完 成 时 则 是 一 个 相 对 的 时 态 ，以 过 去 时 间 为 基 点 ， 它 所 表 示 的 动 作 不 仅 发 生 在 过 去

They arrived at the station at ten yesterday. 2. 在 没 有 明 确 的 过 去 时 间 状 语 作 标 志 时 ， 谓 语 动 词 动 作 发 生 的 时 间 先 后 须 依 据 上 下 文 来 判 断： 先 发 生 的 用 过 去 完 成 时 ， 后 发 生 的 则 用 一 般 过 去 时 。 She was very happy.
