7、hich can lead to chemical reactions such as the alkali reaction or corrosion. The aim of this second topic is to understand and conduct predictive modelling of the physics of such phenomena, which determine the usage and durability of some materials. For example, we study the drying of porous materi
8、als (in removing the salt from historic monuments) cryodepollution of soils, drying of soils by electro-osmosis, or the mechanical effects of concrete swelling caused by chemical reactions.Reophysics of pastes and granular media Civil engineering materials are often formed of granular assemblies imm
9、ersed in a fluid phase (concrete-cement paste, ballast, drilling slurry, powders, paints, etc.). Using discrete numerical simulation and experiments on model or real materials, the aim of this topic is to understand the physical origins, at particle level, and to model the mechanical behaviour of these assemblies using simulation numrique de matriau granulaireMNR imaging, the UMR Navier - LMSGC is conducting unique experiments in the world enabling it directly to determine mechanical behaviour at the heart of flowing materials.
