2、ately think of the figure that wearing hypertrophy trousers, foot head leather shoes and rags hat . He was a very versatile performer and is good at performing inextensive funny and subtle satire. He is successful in walking into every corner of the world and gain three hundred million audiences bas

3、ied on his excellent talent . The former Soviet union famous writer Carl Gold had highly phaised of him heartfeltly that his nature understanding can be compared with Shakespeare and Dickens and his satire can be compared with Voltaire.Modern times is the famous acts last silent movie.Because of the

4、 world economic crisis responding to the pain of unemployed workers, he decided to use the film image to these people who is in pain of economic depression . Though the film had already marched into the sound era, Chaplin insist that funny exaggerated body language can expressed better than those pa

5、le and weak dialogue. So he just put the appropriate music, a little sound and finally created the classical movie.The story happened during industrial production times.It was the time that we met economic depression . During this time ,many people lost their works and went broke while the rich were

6、 still leading a luxurious life and forcing workers to earn more money for them. This formed a huge contrast at that time which made people in lower class felt dissatisfied. This film showed this social problem and criticized on the desperate employment and conditions.The hero, Charles,worked hard i

7、n a factory line. For his job was to tighten up nails, he had to follow the conveyor belt. The boss wanted to make his workers earn more money for him, so he asked his mate to let the conveyor belt faster. Because of the rapid speed of the conveyor belt, all the workers in his factory had to follow

8、the belt and worked harder. Though workers were being badly treated at that time, they seemed peace and quite. It was very sad to see people who have already became numb under the oppression of the capitalist. Charles did the simple and crazy mechanical work again and again and finally became mental

9、 disorders. After becoming abnormal ,he went through a lot of difficulties.When he took him leave the way,he met a trollop and they became friends sharing weal and woe. In the end of the film, Charlie and the homeless woman loved bravely, and they began roaming life journey together.I were deeply im

10、pressed with the first scene of this film. A group of sheep was being drove out of a narrow street and a group of men followed. This scene showed us that in the Industrial Age, workers were being treated as beasts, or even worse.What shocked me most was that Charles was rolled into the machine becau

11、se of the flustered work.Even,the boss do the experiment on the human only want to reduce money.The boss made huge benefits from workers while not care about the workers life conditions.The film showed us the sad fate in the bottom of society and attacked the essence of ruthless exploitation of capi

12、talists. It made people thought deeper about the influence that the Industrialization brought to us However, Chaplins film is more than a sad comedy, he also gave the audience a positive attitude towards life. Modern Times is such a wonderful movie that reflected the reality at the Industrial Age in a comedic way. From this angle, this movie is a meaningful movie.
