I was. 2要求掌握以下词汇: (1)动词:kid, realize (2)形容词:icy ( 3 ) 词组:make ones way (本节课的生词较少,而且单词的拼写比较简单,所以学生学起来不会感到困难,可以鼓 励学生当堂掌握。) Difficulties(难点):过去进行时的用法;when 与 while的区别 Teaching steps(教学步骤)

3、 1. Warm-up and revision(课堂热身和复习) Revision(复习) T: Before we begin our lesson today , lets review things that we learnt yesterday. Please translate the following phrases. (教师将中文短语呈现在 PPT上) 教学设计说明: 本部分旨在复习上节课所学内容中的重要短语,以中译英的形式呈现,考察学生掌握情况。 2. Grammar Focus(语法聚焦) T: I have some sentences for you. Can yo

4、u try to fill in the blanks? (教师将句子以挖空的形式呈现在 PPT上,可叫不同的同学来回答。) 教学设计说明: 本部分的内容旨在让学生掌握本单元重点句型: What were you doing when the rainstorm came? I was What were you doing while Linda was sleeping? I was . 3. Grammar(语法讲解) T: After finishing these sentences, youve learned more about using past continuous te

5、nse. Lets look at these examples. Have Ss look at slides 7-15 in the PowerPoint. (教师可以先让学生开动脑子去总结 Grammar Focus里面所要讲的语法知识,然后再进行 补充,这样学生印象更深刻。) 教学设计说明: 本部分主要内容是:第一,总结过去进行时的用法,弄清楚过去进行时与一般过去时的区 别; 第二,学习 when与 while的区别,学会如何使用这两个词。 4. Exercise (过去进行时 & 一般过去时 & 现在进行时, when & while) T: Since you have learn

6、ed the usage of past continuous tense, as well as the difference between “when” and “while”, lets do some exercise together. Have Ss do the exercise as a class. Have them focus on slides 17-18 and choose the correct answer to complete the four sentences. Check answers as a class. Then show slides 19

7、-24 to the class and explain the important points. Finally have Ss focus on slide 25 and complete the three items individually. Check answers by asking some Ss to read out the sentences. 教学设计说明: 通过练习检测学生对于所涉及的时态以及单词区分的掌握情况,进行实战演练。从而起到 强化与巩固作用。 5. Challenge yourself (Work on 4a, 4b) T: Now here is a

8、challenge. Write sentences about John and Mary using “while” and “when” and the information in the table. Have Ss write their sentences in their notebooks. Walk around the classroom and offer help to Ss where necessary. Then have Ss check their answers in pairs and correct the wrong sentences. Final

9、ly have a few Ss write their sentences on the board. Check answers as a class. T: OK, now complete the paragraph with “was”, “were”, “when” or “while”. Have Ss complete the task individually or in pairs. Check answers as a class. 6. Pairwork (Work on 4c) (两人对话) T: What were you doing at these times

10、last Sunday? Fill in the chart. Then ask your partner. (教师在 PPT上呈现表格,并给出对话示例。) Have Ss look at some pictures on slide 29. Then have two Ss read the sample dialogue on slide 30 aloud. Have Ss write down what they were doing in the “You” column of the chart. Then have Ss work in pairs to ask and answe

Listening Practice (Section B, 1b, 1c 听力) T: Now listen to a conversation and write short answers to the questions.Have Ss write their own answe

13、rs. Check answers as a class. T: Now listen again and number the events in the order they happened. Have Ss write 2-6 to put the events in the correct order (“1” is given as worked example). 15、aking sentences. Talk about why Kate missed the school basketball competition. Work in pairs. One of you begins a sentence with “while” or “when”, and your partner completes the sentence. Have two Ss stand in front of the class and demonstrate how to play the game. Correct the mistakes if Ss say the wrong sentences. 12. Homework (1)Remember the sentences in Grammar Focus. (2)Make five sentences using when and while. Have Ss write their own sentences using when and while in their notebooks. 教学设计说明: 通过最后的作业检测学生对于今天所学内容的掌握情况。
