2、cond of five daughters of Mr.Bennet ,who is a country gentleman living in a town near London.A rich bachelor called Mr.Bingley became the new neighbor of the Bennets and fell in love with the eldest daughter Jane at the first eye,which made Mrs.Bennet very happy because she wants her daughters marri

3、ed rich men.Bingley with his friend Darcy comes to a party where Darcy and Elizabeth meet.Darcy is a wealthy Duke so he is always arrogant.He said Elizabeths appearance is just in the range he could bear.Elizabeth thinks him as an rude man thus ignoring him.But soon after ,Darcy found Elizabeth is a

4、n innocent and lovely girl and he changed his idea of her little by little,especially after Elizabeth agreeing to dance with him.Though Darcy thinks Elizabeth is a good girl but he cannot the rudeness of her family.He worried that Jane is not attracted by Bingley but his property so he persuades Bin

5、gley to stay away from Jane.There is a person called Wickham praised by many people getting on well with Elizabeth.Wickham tells Elizabeth that he was the housekeeper of the Darcys familly and he could have inherited a part of estate of Darcys father but Darcy stole it .Elizabeth disgusts Darcy more

6、 and refused to marry him.Darcy writes a letter to Elizabeth to explain some facts that he persuaded Bingley to leave Jane because he is not satisfied with Mrs. Bennet and Elizabeth younger sisters impolite behavior.Wickham told a lie to her,and the fact is Wickham wasted his part of estate freely.A

7、fter reading this letter,Elizabeth regrets to blame Darcy wrongly.The next summer,Elizabeth hears her youngest sister ran away with indebted Wickham and comes across Darcy.To her surprised,Darcy has paid the debt for her sister and Wickham.Whats more ,she finds that Darcy is no more an arrogant man

8、but a gentleman.They begin to fall in love with each other while Jane and Bingley renew their relationship.Darcy proposes to Elizabeth again and she agrees. This story reflects the authors view of marriage: it is wrong to marry for wealth, money, and status, and it is foolish to get married without

9、considering the above factors. Therefore, she opposed marriage for money, is opposed to the marriage as a trifling matter. She stressed the importance of the ideal marriage, and the feelings of both men and women as the cornerstone of the ideal marriage.Elizabeths different attitude to Darcys two ma

10、rriage proposals actually reflects the pursuit of womens independence and equality of personality.Pride and Prejudice is perhaps one of the greatest love stories in the world, it tells that women have the right to live better, but not to think that women should be taken for granted.My favorite part in this novel is spoken by Darcy to Elizabeth that”you are too generous to trifle with me.” I think this shows the trust and respect between the couple.
