1、毕业设计开题报告 英语 On Vocabulary Teaching in Primary School under the Guidance of Activity Teaching Method 一、 选题的背景和意义 In recent years, our nation takes a faster pace to open up to the outside world and especially after our entry into WTO. English plays a more and more significant role in our daily life. A

2、cquiring a good command of English is an indispensable skill. In the new-run educational reforms of basic curriculums, Ministry of Education has already decided to popularize English course in all the primary schools in the towns and cities of the whole country in China since the autumn semester of

3、2001. English is a new course to pupils and primary school English teaching, which should be based on childrens characteristics, is different from teaching middle school students. The New English Course Standard also stipulates the task of primary English teaching is to cultivate students interest i

4、n learning English, help students build up confidence to learn English well, foster good habits and develop positive strategy of learning the target language and put the language into practice. The current curriculum syllabus suggest that teachers apply the strategy of the “Task-Based Learning” in E

5、nglish teaching. So task-based language teaching is widespread advocated which emphasizes “learning by doing” and aims to cultivate students communicative ability. Thus, many teachers and scholars have explored innumerable teaching strategies. Among those strategies, activity teaching method is one

6、of the feasible teaching methods. It requires teachers to organize various activities in class, such as English competition, English games, chants and role-play, etc. In a word, the purpose of this method is to make all students participate in class activities and give students the chance to express

7、 their ideas. Obviously, the significance of activity teaching method is splendid. First of all, The New English Course Standard emphasizes the importance of language 1 use in practical circumstance. Due to the support of theories, teachers have evidence to exert this method in classroom teaching an

8、d can improve this teaching method in practice for every method in the beginning often has its defects. Activity teaching method aims to establish a real English communicative context. Under the relaxing atmosphere, students are willing to communicate with each other and cooperate with each other. A

9、nd students will not feel nervous and worried while speaking English. As an old saying goes, “practice makes perfect”. Second, it meets the characteristics of children. Children are good at acting, imitating saying and singing. Undoubtedly, children will participate in the activities actively. Whats

10、 more, it can keep children interest in learning English. Third, it differs from traditional teaching method. In traditional teaching method, the whole class is managed by the teacher, while the students are only passive recipients of knowledge. Classroom interactions are mainly between the teacher

11、and students. There are few actions between students and students. However, activity teaching method must make sure that classroom interactions are managed not only just by the teacher, but by all the present students. Lastly, from primary students English books, it is not difficult to find out that

12、 vocabulary almost accounts of half proportion. To children, there is no need to acquire lots of grammar. They only need to foster their interest in learning English and lay a good foundation for further learning. The contents of primary English books mainly consist of simple dialogues and vocabular

13、y. Therefore, helping students to acquire a certain amount of English words is one of the crucial tasks. There are also lots of foreigners studying teaching method, such as oral approach, communicative language teaching, the natural approach, total physical responseA ll in all, the common purpose is

14、 to help children to learn English well. 二、研究目标与主要内容 (含论文提纲) Vocabulary is the basic material of a language. Whether or not one can communicate fluently with a foreigner, to some extent, it depends on the amount of vocabularies one acquired. While to students in primary schools, teachers play a cruc

15、ial role in helping students to accumulate a certain amount of vocabularies, at least, reaching the demand of The New 2 English Course Standard. To pupils, they may be full of enthusiasm to learn English at the beginning and are curious about everything in daily life. For example, perhaps they want

16、to know how to say “西瓜,苹果,香蕉,小猫,小狗 ” in English, but they are too young to learn these by themselves. So, as a primary English teacher, his/her responsibility is great in how to guide children to learn English rightly. The paper mainly from the perspective of teachers elaborates on how teachers exer

17、t activity teaching method appropriately to activate class atmosphere so as to help students learn and remember new words efficiently. The outline of the thesis is as follows: ABSTRACT 1. 28、 English is a new course to pupils who are learning both English and the native language at the same time. Though they are saturated with curiosity towards 5 English, their cognitive level is not high. In accordance with their special characteristics, considerable scholars and teachers have research

29、ed various teaching methods, including activity teaching method. My study is to put activity teaching method into vocabulary teaching in primary schools through analyzing the moment situation of vocabulary teaching and advantages of activity teaching method. The chief features of the paper are to fo

30、cus on helping pupils keep curiosity and interest in learning English and acquire as more English words as possible to meet the demand of The New English Course Standard. Based on former researches, I hope my paper will attract teachers attention when they organize classroom-based activities and benefit pupils in learning English. Moreover, my principal purpose is that students will feel excited and relaxed when they have English classes and they do not regard English as a burden but are eager to learn it.
