1、Hello everyone, today Im going to talk about the topic about “I am watching TV” from the unit 7 of go for it. I divided it into seven parts: teaching material analysis, teaching aims, teaching importance, teaching difficulties, teaching methods, teaching aids, and teaching procedure. .Analysis of te

2、aching material1) Status and functionIt was an important lesson in book one. In this unit, students are going to learn a new grammar item called present progressive. The main idea of the topic is how to ask what people are doing now and answers. We are going to learn the sentence structure to deal w

3、ith these scene. 2) Key points and difficult points:(1)Key points:The expression of asking“ what are people doing?”The expression of answering “Im watching TV”.The structure of present progressive tense.(2)Difficult points:1. The structure of the verb adding “ing”2. Using this tense to describe and

4、communicate in real life.Learner analysis:This lesson is taken for junior students, generally speaking, they have a great interest for English studying, but they can not deal with it very well by themselves. They are curious and enthusiastic about the new knowledge; meanwhile, they are less confiden

5、t and afraid to learn it. So, in this class students are encouraged to join in the class activities. The purpose is to give them more chance to speak English to overcome their fearness. .Teaching aims.1) Knowledge goal:1. new words and phrases(such as doing homework, watching TV, cleaning, eating di

6、nner, reading a book, talking on the phone, apartment )2. the present progressive tense3. the new sentence patternsWhat are you doing? I m watching TV.What is he/she doing? He/she is reading.What are they doing? They are cleaning the room.2)Ability goal: 1. To develop the students abilities of liste

7、ning, speaking, reading and writing.2. To train the students ability of working in pairs.3. To develop the students abilities of communication by learning the useful structures 3) Emotional goal: To arose students interest in learning English. .Teaching strategies:1)Teaching methodsIn this topic, I

8、will use five-step Teaching Method and Task-based language Teaching. They are (1) listening, reading, writing and speaking methods, (2) pair work. (3) Practicing methods. (4) Group work. (5) Describe methods. I design some tasks to help the students to learn it well. To improve the students oral Eng

9、lish, I will give them enough chances to practice and I will use pair work, group work to let the students take an active part in all kinds of activities. That is “Learning by doing, learning by using”. Let the students be the masters of the class teaching, thus, student-centered teaching method is

10、well shown2) Teaching aids.PowerPoint, tape recorder, some pictures and the blackboard.Teaching procedure. Step 1 Review the new words and phrases of this unit by showing some pictures to the class. Then train the students pronunciations by reading them one by one.Step 2Check their mastery of new wo

11、rds and phrases. This is designed for their understanding of the phrases (like reading, cleaning the room, watching TV, eating the dinner, and doing homework).Step 3Introduce new sentence patterns.First, ask the class to listen to me carefully; I will say “We are having an English class now” then an

12、swer me “What are we doing now?” help the class to answer: “We are having an English class now”. Second,“OK, now lets come to todays new sentence patterns presented on the blackboard.” Third, read them each twice and let the class to follow me. Step 4 PracticeAsk one student to act out one action (p

13、retending to read a book), then I ask “What are you doing?”“Im reading.” Then change the roles. Next, ask the class to work in pairs to practice the dialogue using the new phrases like this. Three minutes later, ask some of them to perform it. During this activity, I will help them to correct some m

14、istakes. Also, I will stress the importance on adding the “ing” after the verb. Next, ask another student to answer “What is he/she doing now?” Then practice the “What are we /you/ they doing now?”. This is deigned to let the students to pay more attention on the consistent between the subject and t

15、he verb. Step 5Listen to the 1b on the textbook and choosing the right answers. This was designed to train their listening skills as well as their understanding of present progressive tense in reality. Step 6Summarize the main content of this class. The purpose is to give a general idea of how to express the present progressive tense.Step 7 HomeworkRecite the new words and phrases.Practice the new sentence patterns.
