The immediate cause of the boycott was Rosa Parks, a black woman ,being turned off the bus because she would not give up her seat for a white man. She

6、was arrested because she challenged the racial discrimination on buses. The king and the other black leaders in Montgomery called on all the blacks to start a bus boycott movement. The black community and black churches supported Rosa parks The boycott lasted about a year .All that time the blacks w

7、alked to work or use taxies. The whites tried to end the boycott by playing tricks and bombing the houses of the leaders of the movement. I think white people wanted to sit away from blacks because they thought the blacks were inferior . Key to the questions It made it clear to the people of the cit

The boycott was over when the supreme Court said that it was illegal to sections reserved for blacks and white people on the bused.The blacks won the battle through their continuous struggle, in which they showed thei

28、1 I was coming in from the woods with a load of wood and just as I got to the fence I heard my daughter, Mayella ,screaming inside the house-,So, I dropped the wood and ran as fast as I could to the window. I saw that black Negro attacking my mayella. A: what did you do? F: I ran for the law as fast

29、 as I could past that area where the Negroes live. Theyre dangerous and their houses are dirty and- A: Did you run for the doctor? F: Didnt need to. I saw what happened. A: but werent you concerned about Mayella? F: I certainly was .But I saw who done it. A: No, I mean her injuries. Didnt they need

30、medical attention? F: I aint never call a doctor in my life. A: where were the injuries ? F: They were round her neck and to her right eye and right side of her face. A: So were looking for a left-handed man. Can you write, Mr. Ewell? F: I sure can. A: Would you write your name for us? Thank you . I

31、 can see youre left-handed. F: I am indeed. A: Thank you. N: Then Atticus began to ask Mayella some questions. A: Now Mayella , Is your father good to you ? M: He is ok except when hes been drinking. A: Does he beat you ? M: Hes never touched a hair of my head A: Does he help you in the house? M: No

32、, but I ask Tom to help sometimes. He helped me that day. A: Now, you said Tom was behind you. M: Yes A: You said he got you round the neck. M: Sure did. A: Do you remember him beating around the face with his left hand? M: No, I dont -yes ,I do . A: Mayella, you said that the man hit you, grabbed y

33、ou round the neck and tried to kiss you . I want to be sure you have the right man. Will you point at the man who attacked you ? M: I will . Its him right over there. A: Tom, stand up. Let Mayella have a good look at you. Is this the man. N: Tom rose to his feet. He looked odd but it wasnt the way h

34、e was standing. His left arm was twelve inches shorter than his right. It ended in a small hand and I could see it was no use to him. A: Is this the man who attacked you? M: He sure did. A: How ? Note The case is that a left-handed man hit Mayella putting his hands around her neck and giving her a b

35、lack eye. As Toms left hand is very short and therefore weak, he could not have committed this crime. The only other person who could have done it is the father. He is so angry about it that he is prepared to send his innocent black man to prison.
