How often 多久一次,对频率提问,其答语为:once(twice/ )+时间段, always,usually 等。 e.g. -How often do you exercise? - Once a day. How far 多远,对距离提问,其答语是表距离的内容。 e.g. - How far is it fro

I have had this magazine for a couple of months. a couple of 有两种意思: 其一,表示具体的数量“两个” ,指两个相同的人或物 体;其二,表示数量不定的”少数几个” ,作这种虚指的用法时,具体意思往 往视上下文和具体的语境而决定。 e.g. You have to wait for a couple of hours for the clothes to dry co

16、mpletely. 你得等上一两个小时让这些衣服完全干燥。 Look! There are a couple of boys waiting for you at the door. 瞧!门口有两三个男孩正在等你。 辨析:for 与 since for 其后只能接表示 “一段时间”的名词性短语,可用于多种时态,表示动作或 状态持续时间段长短。 e.g. I have lived in this city for five years. 我在这座城市居住了 5 年了。 He usually sleeps for twelve hours every day. 他通常每天睡 12 个小时。 sin

17、ce 其后接表示“ 时间点”的短语或从句(过去时),也可以接 “一段时间 +ago”,常用于完成时态;还用于句型:“It is +时间段 +since+一般过去时的句 子”。表示过去某个时间发生并持续到说话时的动作或状态。 e.g. It is two years since I came to China. 自从我到中国以来已经两年了。 She has worked here for five years. =She has worked here since five years ago. 她在这儿工作 5 年了。 3. Jeffs family is having a yard sale

18、. sale 用作名词,意为“ 出售,销售”,on sale 意为“ 出售,上市 ”;for sale 意为 “待售,供出售 ”,尤指从主人手里出售 e.g. Chickens are on sale in the market. 小鸡在市场上出售。 Im sorry, its not for sale. 抱歉,它不出售。 4. Amy thinks its hard to sell her old things. 艾米认为卖掉她的旧东西很难。 Its +adj. (+for sb.) to do sth. 意为“(对某人来说)做某事时 的” ,it 是形 式主语,真正主语是后面的动词不定式。

Amy wants to keep her old things because they bring back sweet memories. 艾米想保留她的旧东西,因为它们勾起她的甜蜜回忆。 memory n. ,意为 “记忆;回忆 ”,复数形式为 memories,动词为 memorize, 意为“记忆,背诵 ”。 e.g. She has a good memory. 她记忆力好。 6. The stories inside may be a bi

20、t old, but theyre still interesting. a bit 意为“一点儿, 稍微”, 修饰形容词或副词, 相当于 a little; a bit of +不可 数名词, a little 直接加不可数名词。 e.g. There is a bit of/a little water in the bottle. 瓶子里有点儿水。 【链接】a little bit 也意为 “有点儿”,可用来修饰形容词或副词。 e.g. I came a little bit ( = a bit / a little) early this morning. 【运用】完成句子,每空词数不

As for me, I did not want to give up my football shirts, but, to be honest, I have not played for a while now. 1) as for 至于,关于 e.g. And as for us, we are fortunate. 可对我们来说,我们是幸运的。 2) to be honest 意为“说实在的,说实话”,等同于 honestly。经常单独使用, 作插入语,用逗号与句子隔开。类似的表达还有 to tell the truth “老实说, 说实话”。 e.g. To be h

Step 2 精讲点拨 现在完成时 现在完成时的持续型用法 现在完成时还可表示过去某一时间开始并一直持续到现在(包括“现在” 在内)的动 作或状态,该用法中的动词多是延续性动词,常见的时态标志词有 since, for 等。 1. since 意为“ 自从以来”, 它既可作介词,也可作连词。作介词时 , 后接表 示过去的时间点, 表示某事开始的时间;作连词时, 引导时间状语从句, 从句 常用一般过去时。如: We have been here since last Sunday / two years ago. Mr. Jones has worked here since he was

39、twenty-five. 2. for 作介词,后接一段时间,表示一个动作或一种状态已经持续了多长时间。 如: I have studied here for three years. She has been away for five days. 注意: 1. 对 since 和 for 引导的时间状语提问时 , 常用 how long。如: Jane has learned to play the piano since two years ago. (对划线部分提问 ) How long has Jane learned to play the piano? 2. 在现在完成时中,含有

40、 for 和 since 的句子可以相互转换。如: They have lived here for five years. =They have lived here since five years ago. 3. 在现在完成时中,表示短暂意义的动词(如 come 和 see)在肯定句和一般疑问 句中不能和表示一段时间的时间状语连用,但在否定句中是可以的。如: Mike has come to London for three weeks. () They havent seen each other for ages. () 短暂性(短语)动词与延续性(短语) 动词 和与表示状态的短语之
