Wearing a worn-out cap and a patched

4、uniform, Jiao hurries from the railway station to the county government building. On the way he is stopped by a group of ragged boys asking him for food. He gives all his steamed-bread to his “subjects“.兰考这个地方灾荒不断, 全县 360,000 人祖祖辈辈饱受风沙、土壤盐性化和水灾“三害”之苦。The 360,000 people of Laokao county, a disaster-r

Folks there have to leave their homes in order to beg a living from door to door elsewhere. It

He died at a hospital in Zheng

9、The heart-stirring power of the film lies in its truthfulness. As a communist, Jiao serves the people whole-heartedly (/heart and soul). He never seeks personal gains at the cost of principle (/by sacrificing/violating principle). What he leaves after his death to his eldest daughter is an old-style watch, the only valuable thing of his belongings.
