1、1 On November 6, 2004, the first China-Asean Expo lowered its curtain in the International Exhibition Center of Nanning, Giangxi. This is the first Expo that takes Free trade zone as its theme.The Expo, which is co-sponsored by China the numerous participants from abroad; and the large scale of vari
2、ous gatherings, etc.During the Expo, Nanning Customs provided excellent services for all government-VIPs Vice-head of the General Administration 2Customs, Liu Wenjie, and Deputy director of regulatory department of this customs, Huang Yi; Commissioner, Ding Xuehui and Deputy commissioner, Zhang Jinc
3、heng and Lin Guozhong of Nanning Customs, etc., had came respectively to inspect and give instruction to the regulatory group that was sent to the Expo by Nanning Customs. According to statistics, during the whole exhibition period, this customs frontier had provided preferential treatment and court
4、eous reception to 2000-odd passengers arriving had received 133 bills of entry for exhibits including 22 sorts, 2000-odd items of goods mainly involving the following aspects: agro-products of which, 19,647 kgs are transshipment cargo with the value of USD $ 6998.13.The imported exhibits came from 2
5、66 enterprises 3involved 15 countries and zones i.e. the 10 countries of ASEAN, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Africa, Japan and so on.This customs had also regulated 38 sorties of leaving flights, of which 8 sorties was provided to foreign government head, 6 was governments charter flight; and 1,0
6、63 arriving Lao Prime Minister, Bounnhang; Burmese Prime Minister, Soe Win; Thai Vice Prime Minister, Phinit; Vietnamese Vice Prime Minister, Pham Gia Khiem, etc.; while with the support of the armed police, public security, and the safety guard department of the Expo, officers of the customs regula
7、tory group, through patrolling, had discovered and stopped some activities of distributing publicizing printed documents & articles offered by overseas firms, which involved violating the principle of one China, and confiscated 2,427 pieces of contraband goods so as to insure the regulatory schedule running in a normal way.Up to now, 20 cases of exhibits left for later sale with a value of USD $ 23.9-thousand, and 6 cases of returning cargo with total weight of 12.92 ton, and total value of USD $ 17.3-thousand 4have all been gone through smoothly.
