The lesson Im going to talk about is Part A of Unit 3, Fujian Education Press, Book 3. Ill prepare five parts to say something about this lesson. Part One: Analysis of the teaching m
2、aterial This unit introduces and develops the theme of Numbers and Animals Students are expected to master the new words: cow,horse,sheep,thirteen,fourt een,fifteen, sixteen and use the sentence patterns “ I have.” in proper situation. By study of this unit, the students know how describe the number
3、 of their belongings with simple words and sentences. The study of this lesson will help the students with daily communication. Therefore, on studying the teaching material and regulation of the studentsgrowing of mind, I put forward the teaching objectives according to the New English Lesson Sta nd
4、ard. The first is aims on the knowledge: (1) To enable students to learn some new words, such as cow,horse,sheep,thirteen,fourteen,fifteen,sixteen and to master the sentence patterns : I have. (2) The students can read and understand the conversation of the lesson. The next is aims on abilities: (1)
5、 The ability aim is to enable the Ss to talk about the number of their belongings. Make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations. (2) To develop Ss abilities of communication and their innovation Aims on the emotion: (1) The emotion aim is to foster Ss consciousness of good co- operat
6、ion and proper competition. (2)By completing the task, the Ss increase their interest and set up self- confidence in language study. The main and difficult points about this lesson are: (1) To make sure students can pronounce the word: “fifteen” correctly. (2) To help students to use the sentence pa
7、ttern: I have correctly. Part Two: Ways of teaching and learning As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. Ss are expected to learn in real situation
8、, so I will use some pictures, cards and body l anguage to help them get a better understanding of the content. A tape recorder and m ulti-media computer will help me to achieve the aims. The Task- based teaching method, Communcative teaching method and Group cooperation teach ing method will be use
9、d in this period. Part Three: Teaching procedures and purpose of my designing Ill finish this in five steps. Step1. Warm-up and preview 1. Greetings 2. Listen to the song: Old MacDonald Has a Farm 3. Review some words of animals such as dog, hen, cat and duck with flash cards. P: It is important to
10、form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by singing. And at the same time it provides situations to review learnt knowledge for the next step. Step 2. Presentation Now I will mainly talk about this step. 1. First I will show students a picture of farm, and ask students what they can see
11、 on the farm. Then lead to the new words: cow, sheep, horse one by one. Practice these words and phrases with “High and Low Voice”. P: To present the key phrases one by one is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. 2. CAI shows pics of sheep, cows and horses, let students to count t
12、he number. Then lead to the new words: thirteen, fourteen, fifteen and sixteen. P: With the help of CAI, the Ss can get a better understanding of the text. 3. Play tape recorder once and lead to the sentence pattern “ I have.”. Then the T plays the tape recorder twice or three times, let students li
13、sten and imitate the dialogue. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. P: Accurate pronunciation is very important in English learning. Teacher should train the Ss ability of imitation consciously. Step 3. Practice Play a game. (What is different!) PPT shows a couple of pictures, let stud
14、ents to find out the differences of these pictures. The group which finds out first will win a point. P: This game can arouse students interest in learning English. Meanwhile, it also help to consolidate the new words and phrases. Step 4. Consolidation Divide the Ss into 4 groups. Each one would do
15、a survey to finds out the numbers of their belongings (such as school things, farm animals). And then find out which group finishes faster. P: Task-based Teaching Method is used here to develop the Ss ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained. Step 5. Homework 1. Listen to the tape and repeat. 2. Finish off the activity book of this lesson. Step 6.
